Yi Liu is a lyric coloratura soprano known for her expressive phrasing and refined bel canto technique. She has performed at venues including the Shanghai Grand Theatre, the Shanghai Concert Hall during the 39th Shanghai Spring International Music Festival, the Musikverein in Vienna, and Carnegie Hall, and has appeared in concert with Bryn Terfel.

A First Prize winner of the Nightingale Opera Theatre Biennial Vocal Competition and a Second Prize winner of the John Alexander National Vocal Competition, her repertoire includes Violetta (La Traviata), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), and Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi).
